Hearst Castle
Hearst Castle is located near the town of San Simeon, California, USA. It is along California’s central coast.
Hearst Castle was built by the Hearst family, a publication juggernaut. William Randolph Hearst worked with an architect, Julia Morgan, for over 28 years to build this magnificent castle. It is still considered to be “in complete” or “under construction”.
It has dozens of rooms full of furniture, art and artifacts from across the world. From one side of the room to another and from floor to ceiling, it is full of carefully selected artwork.
There are beautiful outdoor and indoor swimming pools that has marble structures and ornate tiles.
Hearst Castle offers multiple featured guided tours. One of the tours is called the Julia Morgan tour. This the supposed to be a comprehensive tour with limited number of participants. It takes about two hours and explores various part of the castle. It provides an opportunity to enjoy several indoor and outdoor scenery of this grand castle. Tours should be reserved in advance to ensure a seat on the bus to the castle.
Hearst Castle is managed by the California State Parks and is a State Historical Monument.
