CA Capital Christmas Tree
The Christmas tree in front of the west steps of the California State Capital in Sacramento is installed in late November, and the lights are turned on during the first week of December by the Governor. For several years the Governor would have a tree lighting ceremony outdoors in front of the tree with several dignitaries in attendance. However, for the past few years due to security reasons, usually, from protesters, the ceremony has shifted indoors. The ceremonial switch to turn the lights on is now located inside the Capital.
